He was so impressive and informative from our very first email. Lot of questions answered and suggestions made for a perfect itinerary to Cambodia n Vietnam. We did not want to be rush and selected Siemreap, Mekong, Hoian, Hanoi and Halong for our trip. All were well organized from the beginning to the end of the trip. We had perfect guides, nice and well located accommodation. Whenever I needed help, just a message to Kelvin through WhatsApp fixed it all. Thanks and will get back for our trip in Laos soon with Kelvin. read less

I thought to myself, "No one could be this perfect." Boy was I wrong. Kelvin was extremely easy to work with and was quite patient as we changed up our itinerary a number of times. He put together an amazing trip for our three-week visit to S.E. Asia. We chose to book into four-star hotels and every time we arrived at a new hotel we'd say, "OMG, Kelvin did it again!" Each place was better than the next. Kelvin was in touch via WhatsApp the whole time. He was checking us in for our internal flights, having boarding passes printed out and given to us by the hotel staff, and even reminded us to get off the train at a particular stop. You wouldn't think you'd need reminding, but we were so relaxed that we may have missed our stop. Kelvin came by to introduce himself to us in Hanoi. Our first question was, "What other countries do you cover as we'd like to have you by our side for our next trip!" Don't hesitate to use this agency. They are five-star all the way. read less

It's a long 15 day holiday in Vietnam. We did not have any things to worry when booking this trip as my parents used Indochinatreks for their trip in 2019 and sent me their details. Everything was very well customized for our family with lot of suitable activities for the kids. We loved doing Jeep tour in Saigon, food tour by vespa in Hoian, visiting caves in Phong Nha, scooter tour to countryside in Hanoi and Halong bay cruise. We also did a cooking class in Hoian by bike. All were so fun and well planned. All airport pickups/seeoffs were great as we heard of taxi scams. Our accommodation was all great at good location, great services and cleaness. All flights were booked and we got boarding passes the day before the flight. Very stress-free and relaxing trip. It's our first time arranging such a long trip through an agent. We were very satisfied with the choice. Big thanks to Kelvin and stay for a wonderfull trip! read less

I was impressed by knowledge and profressionalization that Kelvin - our consultant did handle my all questions/concerns. We decided to let him arrange all things for us for our long holiday to Indochina. We heard it's better to start the trip from Cambodia, then south to north of Vietnam. Kelvin recommended an excellent itinerary for the rout. We wanted to join a cruise on the Mekong river from Siem Reap - Saigon and asked Kelvin to add it in our package. The Jahan cruise was a perfect choice. We also loved our stay in Hoian with nice bike tour and the best resort there. Hanoi city and a Halong bay cruise were great to end the trip. All accommdation and tours arranged by Kelvin were excellent. We always had great English speaking guides. I will recommend Kelvin and Indochinatreks as local agent to anyone who want to visit Vietnam. I will not hesitate to use this agent again if we get back to Vietnam. read less

While travelling in Vietnam Kelvin would send me the name, number plate and details of the car picking me up at airport or train station. All tours l did were small group three to maximum of 8 people or private. Tour guides were very helpful and always provided bottles of water. Accommodation booked was always central and welcoming. We went in the shoulder season and the weather was fantastic! Kelvin from IndoChina Treks helped booked are vacation from start to finish. All our transfers, hotels and some tours were booked. We started in Hanoi and ended in Ho Chi Min City. We did a three day trek to Sapa and it was a highlight, the weather was beautiful and the treking was amazing, homestays were beautiful. We then made our way to Halong Bay, Do not do a one day cruise, spend the money, choose a good ship and do the two night cruise, the second day was amazing! Kelvin organized all our transfers, our flights , and most hotels! Everything was on time and all drivers and guides were excellent and punctual! Cambodia was amazing and our trip to Siem Reap and Ankor Wat was amazing! We hired a Turk tuck driver for two days and he took us throughout the park, it was a highl for us! Kelvin was great and we would definitely recommend him to help make your Vietnam/ Cambodia trip stress free and a great once in a lifetime trip! read less

Pros: exceptional service, amazing, friendly staff, good guides, outstanding food and entertainment, beautiful, charming, spacious room with a balcony. Cons: (1) Overall communication from the leadership was poor. We rarely saw captain or others in charge. The front desk was not particularly helpful or friendly. There were changes from the published itinerary that were not communicated -- e.g. The Killing Fields visit. Not much communication of where we were or where we were going next. (2) There was one village walk that was not successful and should have been aborted. Because of a funeral, we couldn't visit the family we planned. Then the normal route was blocked, so we had to take an alternate (long) route. It was very, very hot with no shade. We should have returned to the ship when plans changed. I feel the negatives reflect more on overall leadership (whoever they were) and poor communication and not on the hardworking, outstanding staff (chef, food and beverage manager, servers, room attendants). The pros, especially the phenomenal service, far outweighed the cons, it's a great cruise, and I highly recommend it. read less

We had the time of our life onboard the Jayawarman. What a beautiful ship. From early morning sunrise Thai Chi on the pool deck, magnificent breakfasts, very well chosen tours on shore in small groups with very competent, fluid English speaking guides, full bodied lunch buffet, more interesting tours or relaxation in the shades in the afternoon. Often intertainments, snacks and drinks on the pooldeck at sunset. Fantastic 5 course dinners and possibilities for inputs by film or lectures in the evening and a well equipped bar. You have an outstanding crew onboard where no question were left unanswered, smiles and communicative approach allround. We were well served in any aspect. You gave us possibilities to experience the very authentic daily life of the Cambodian people, since the vessel was able to sail where other bigger vessels were not. We didn’t experience just to be a part of a touristic invasion. We where often there all alone. Great job. We had small tokens and gifts all along. From the sunhats, recipes books, scarves and not to forget a USB stick with more than 500 pics and videos from our trip taken by members of the crew following us ashore or at the events in the evenings. Thank you very much Heritage Line we will recommend you everywhere. read less

The marketing and the price make this appear a 5 star experience on paper, but if you’re used to luxury hotels then I think you’ll be disappointed. We’re talking £750/$1000 price point for a 1 night cruise which is a huge amount of money in Vietnam so I expect the best of everything like what I’ve got in the top hotels in Vietnam (Reverie Saigon, Capella Hanoi, Regent Phu Quoc, Four Season Hoi An etc). The boat looks tired as it’s clearly not cleaned and maintained properly, presumably as it’s essentially a work horse where one load of passengers disembark at 10:30, and they then load the next passengers on at 11:45, and this happens day in day out. The rooms are looking tired (scuffed walls, broken lamp shades held together by cable ties, poor lighting) and they are low standard with low quality sheets, cheap pillows and duvet that are manmade fibres not down, tea and coffee selection is atrocious with the cheapest Lipton bags and very strange flavours like strawberry tea. My room was also meant to come with a bottle of sparking wine but it turned out to be a cheap half bottle of red wine. The hot tub temperature was tepid at best and dirty. The a/c unit worked but was filthy with dust. The food was abysmal. They are aiming for fine dining cuisine but clearly the chefs haven’t been to catering college. The food was so bad that I struggled to eat it and preferred to go hungry. Call me boring, but I also didn’t appreciate them pumping out loud club music from 17:15 what penetrated all parts of the boat including our room. I didn’t get angry with the staff as clearly they know no better; they clearly haven’t been trained like what they do in top hotel brands. The staff are lovely though and are clearly trying their best, which in turn makes you feel bad about making a fuss as they simply can’t fix the situation as the problems are fundamental and across the board. The tender boat also had quite a significant crash into a fishing boat while transferring us to Ginger. The manager gave some bull about it being because of the currents, but it was plain and simple because the driver was chatting away to his colleagues and not paying attention. The incident could have been very serious, and I was surprised by the complete nonchalant response. We were also given a letter after dinner which included a request for a tip and recommending that $40-50 is typical per room! I could go on and on, but I trust this warns others not to make the same mistake as us booking heritage line. DO NOT BOOK A HERITAGE LINE CRUISE! I’ve no idea if there’s better cruises out there though. One last word of warning, obviously nothing to do with Heritage Line, but Ha Long Bay is extremely polluted with rubbish and what looks like raw sewage which doesn’t exactly wet your appetite when you’re being served local seafood. I later read that most of Hanoi’s sewage is pumped untreated into the river which then reaches Ha Long Bag …. read less

With only six spacious cabins on the ship there is an abundance of space for everyone, and if you have the chance to book an upper deck front cabin, then do so. We stayed in the room called ‘Phoenix’, which is a large room with fantastic decor and you will not be disappointed, from the huge four poster bed to the two person jacuzzi in an equally large en suite. The two day cruise has a full itinerary, but also allows time for relaxing. One of the highlights, apart from the amazingly helpful and friendly crew, is the quality of food on board and its presentation. It was plentiful and delicious. All in all, a fabulous couple of days. read less
